Dear Editor,
Disposable toilet seat covers need to be provided nationally in all public restrooms. As people may not know disposable toilet seat covers can help protect our bottoms from harm. They can protect us from bacteria, hepatitis c, and sometimes even herpes. We are lucky here in California to have an opportunity to have disposable toilet seat covers in all public restrooms.
People are being more susceptible to germs and other diseases every time they use a public bathroom. Every time a person flushes, fecal matter is dispersed in the air, it gets tossed
in the air and it lands up to twenty feet from the toilet. This means you, your children, your grandparents, or your parents lives are endangered every time they sit down.
Toilet seat covers reduce the chance for people to spread bacteria to others. Do you know how much bacteria is on an average toilet seat? There are 1,180 bacteria per square centimeter, which is a lot of bacteria. It is not a pleasant thought. Some people may argue that using disposable toilet seat covers are destroying the forests, but most covers are made from recycled paper, which means the trees will be untouched.
People should be protected from this germ infested place; government should spend a little more time and money serving the people for one of their basic needs. Then maybe we can be safer in a public bathroom.
